Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg, food coloring, and vanilla.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Roll dough into balls and place on baking sheets. Bake for 10–12 minutes.
- Cool cookies completely on a wire rack.
- Prepare frosting by beating cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
- Frost cooled cookies and decorate as desired.
