Description
Deliciously sweet and spicy barbecue chicken recipe that has a honey-bourbon glaze. It is perfect for any event!
Ingredients
- Four boneless and skinless chicken breasts (or the thighs)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup of bourbon (substitute apples cider vinegar or apple juice for an alcohol-free version)
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper according to your preference
Instructions

make up for the Marinade Make the marinade: In a mixing bowl, mix honey, bourbon and BBQ sauce Dijon mustard, cider vinegar made from apples, minced garlic smoking paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.

Marinate the chicken as follows: Place the breasts of chicken in an shallow dish or in a resealable plastic bag. Sprinkle half the marinade onto the chicken and reserve the remaining for the basting. Cover the chicken and chill for two hours, or for up to a night for maximum flavor.
Grill or Bake the Chicken :

To grill Honey Bourbon Chicken: Preheat the grill to medium high. The chicken is cooked for 6- 8 minutes per side, topping it with marinade you reserved. Be sure that the chicken’s internal temperature is the temperature of 165 degrees F.

To bake Honey Bourbon Chicken: Preheat the oven to 400 degrees (200degC). Put the chicken into a baking dish, then brush the marinade with the reserved marinade and bake for 20-25 minutes or until it is cooked.

Finish and serve Serve: Let to allow the Honey Bourbon Chicken to cool for about 15 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with leftover sauce for an extra punch of flavor.
