Description
Combine your love for chocolate and sourdough by baking these delicious and satisfying Sourdough brownies with a distinctive sourdough twist.
Ingredients
- 200g (1 cup) dark chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
- 110g ( 1 Cup) unsalted butter
- 100g ( 1/2 cup) Granulated sugar
- 100g ( 1/2 cup) brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 100g ( 1/2 cup) Sourdough starter scraps (unfed)
- 70g ( 1/2 cup) all-purpose flour
- 30g ( 1/3 cup) Cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions

Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees F (175degC) and then line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment sheet.

In a bowl that is heatproof, melt the butter and chocolate over a pan of boiling water. Stir until it is smooth. Removing from the heat.

Incorporate the granulated sugar and brown sugar to the chocolate mix that has been melted.

Pour the eggs in one by one making sure to whisk thoroughly after every addition.

Combine the leftover sourdough and vanilla extract until thoroughly blended.

Incorporate the cocoa powder, flour and salt. Fold carefully until the ingredients are fully incorporated.

Put the batter in the pan you’ve prepared and spread the batter equally.

Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick emerges with some wet crumbles.

Let cool thoroughly before cutting pieces.
Notes
Sourdough Discard Tip This recipe can be made excellent using an unfed sourdough toss, giving it an icy tang to complement the chocolate.
Storage Storage: Sourdough Brownies in airtight containers at temperatures of room temperature for four days or more and then place them in freezers for as long as 3 months.
