- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 2 carrots, finely chopped
- 2 celery stalks, finely chopped
- 500g ground beef
- 3 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup red wine or beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 400g spaghetti
- Fresh Parmesan, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot and sauté onions, carrots, and celery until softened.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking up clumps as needed.
- Stir in tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes, then deglaze with wine or broth.
- Add crushed tomatoes, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 1-2 hours.
- Stir in milk during the final 15 minutes of cooking.
- Cook spaghetti according to package instructions, toss with sauce, and serve garnished with Parmesan.

- For added flavor, include a Parmesan rind while simmering the sauce.
