Blitz Pizzaschnecken

Quick and delicious pizza rolls filled with tomato sauce, mozzarella, and ham, perfect for a fast snack or light meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 roll pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 100 g tomato sauce passata or pizza sauce
  • 150 g mozzarella grated
  • 50 g parmesan grated
  • 100 g ham or salami thinly sliced or cubed
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • a pinch salt and pepper
  • 1 piece butter or oil for greasing the baking dish
  • 1 egg yolk egg yolk for brushing (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish with butter or oil.
  • Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to a thickness of about 3-4 mm.
  • Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 2 cm border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle the mozzarella, parmesan, ham, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper over the sauce.
  • Roll the dough tightly from the long side, cut into 8-10 equal slices, and place them in the prepared baking dish.
  • Brush the tops with egg yolk (if using) and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

You can customize the filling with your favorite toppings or use leftover ingredients. Serve warm and enjoy!
