Ingredients
  

Crust and Batter

  • 6 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour see notes below for measuring
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper and preheat oven to 350°F/180°C.
  • Make the cheesecake batter: beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then add egg and vanilla. Set aside.
  • Prepare brownie batter: melt butter and chocolate chips, then whisk in eggs, vanilla, and sugar. Fold in flour, cocoa, and salt.
  • Alternate scoops of brownie and cheesecake batters into the pan, then swirl gently with a toothpick.
  • Bake for 26 minutes, cool completely, then cut into 16 pieces.

Notes

For best results, do not over-swirl the batter to maintain the marbled effect.
