Instructions
Activate yeast in warm water with sugar, then mix with flour, salt, and melted butter to form dough. Let rise for 1 hour.
Prepare baking soda bath by boiling water and dissolving baking soda. Shape dough into 1-inch pieces and boil for 30 seconds on each side.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place boiled bites on a baking sheet, brush with egg wash, and sprinkle with salt.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with mustard or cheese sauce.
Notes
For an authentic pretzel taste, use coarse sea salt or pretzel salt for topping before baking.
