  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  • Combine melted butter and sugar in a large bowl, mixing until smooth.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Sift in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
  • Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then lift out and cool completely on a wire rack.

Notes

For a chewier texture, bake for 20 minutes. For a firmer texture, bake for 25 minutes.
