Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350F. Grease an 8x8 square pan or line with parchment; set aside.
Melt butter in a microwave-safe bowl, then whisk in sugar and cocoa until dissolved.
Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until well combined and shiny.
Stir in flour and salt; fold in optional add-ins.
Spread batter in pan and bake for 20 minutes; avoid overbaking.
Cool completely, then cut into squares.

For the fudgiest texture, avoid overbaking. Let cool completely before cutting.
