Peaches

  • 8 fresh peaches fresh peaches about 2 lbs, peeled, cored, and sliced

Sugar and Spices

  • 0.5 to 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  • Peel, core, and slice peaches, then toss with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and optional cornstarch.
  • Pour peach mixture into the prepared dish.
  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Stir in melted butter and vanilla extract until dough forms. Drop spoonfuls of topping over peaches.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden and bubbly. Let cool 15–20 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the best flavor, use fresh, ripe peaches. Let the cobbler cool slightly before serving with vanilla ice cream.
