Ingredients

  • 8 oz oz mozzarella cheese cut into sticks (about 12 sticks)
  • 1 cup cup Takis chips crushed
  • ½ cup cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs eggs beaten
  • ½ tsp tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp tsp cayenne pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut the mozzarella cheese into sticks about 3-4 inches long and 1/2 inch wide.
  • Crush the Takis chips finely using a rolling pin or heavy pan.
  • Set up three bowls: flour in one, beaten eggs in another, and crushed Takis mixed with spices in the third.
  • Coat each mozzarella stick in flour, then egg, then Takis mixture. Repeat egg and Takis coating for extra crispiness.
  • Place coated sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for at least 1 hour.
  • Fry frozen sticks in hot oil at 350°F for 1-2 minutes until golden. Drain on paper towels.

Notes

For extra crispiness, freeze the coated mozzarella sticks before frying.
