baking powder

granulated sugar

garlic powder

unsalted butter
1½ sticks, divided

whole milk
cold

shredded mild cheddar cheese
freshly shredded recommended

dried parsley
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Melt ½ cup (1 stick) of butter in the microwave and set aside.
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, garlic powder, and ½ tsp salt.
Pour in melted butter and cold milk. Stir gently until just combined.
Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese with a spoon until evenly distributed.
Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheet. No shaping needed.
Bake for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and fragrant.
While baking, melt remaining ¼ cup butter and mix with ¼ tsp salt and parsley.
Brush biscuits with herb butter immediately after baking. Serve warm.
Notes
Use cold milk to keep the butter from melting too soon — it gives fluffier biscuits. Don’t overmix or they’ll turn dense!
